Welcome to Mini Museum Camp! A playful, open-ended theme where children explore a wide range of art forms and curate their own miniature museum exhibition along the way. If Dream House or other small world-style projects are a hit in your setting, Mini Museum offers a similarly immersive experience with a strong focus on artistic exploration, storytelling, and creative ownership.
With a balance of main projects and simpler “side dish” invitations, Mini Museum is designed to support meaningful creative experiences that can unfold over a week.
Perfect for summer camps, classrooms, afterschool programs, homeschool groups, or creative days at home.
What children will do:
Explore a variety of art forms through open-ended creative invitations
Experiment with different materials, techniques, and processes
Create artwork to display inside their own cardboard mini museum
Design and build exhibition spaces, displays, and installations
Engage in storytelling, reflection, and imaginative play connected to their artwork
Move between larger ongoing projects and smaller prompts and invitations
Revisit and expand on ideas over time through a more immersive creative experience
The experiences are flexible and adaptable, making them easy to use with mixed-age groups and a variety of camp or classroom settings.
20 art activities ranging from larger feature projects to smaller invitations and prompts
Variations for toddlers through tweens, ideal for multi-age groups
25 beautiful full-color pages that can be printed
Book lists, curricular connections, play ideas, and snack ideas
Easy-to-follow supply lists and setup suggestions
Morning and afternoon routines to help frame your camp day
Clear instructions, photos, and approachable guidance, no fancy materials or prep needed
Enough creative experiences to last for several weeks if you are at home
You’ll also receive beautiful photography, approachable guidance, and clear instructions designed to help you create an engaging and art-filled camp experience without complicated preparation or expensive supplies.
This guide pairs beautifully with our on-demand camp workshops. It reflects the same approach we share throughout our professional learning experiences: creating flexible structures that support creativity, independence, collaboration, and open-ended exploration.
You’ll see many of the same ideas woven throughout our workshops — thoughtfully curated materials, simple systems and routines, thematic inspiration, and creative experiences that allow children’s ideas and interests to lead the way.
You’re buying a digital product to print or view on a device. After purchase, you’ll get a PDF download link—save the file to your device; the link expires in 24 hours. If you miss it, email us, and we’ll resend it.
